Within 30 seconds of slipping this disc into my CD player I felt an urge. I just wanted to call Oceano up and tell them to stop. These deathcore bantamweights mindlessly bore and boulder through Incisions, their third record. Maybe they're nu-metal? They sure love dat slap bass, making it rain over opener Eternal Wasteland. Internal War suffers through throat grinder Adam Warren's whispering creepy nothings in our ear...

Sound: Oceano returns with their sophomore effort, "Contagion." On their debut album "Depths," I was mainly taken aback by the hammering gutterals of the band's frontman Adam Warren. The guys in Oceano must be a tough group to get along with. Contagion is only their second release since forming in 2006 and they already have five ex-members, one of whom happens to be the band's founder, kicked to the curb last year. Member conflicts aside, Contagion shows a group of talented musicians; through their revolving door of members, the Chicago, IL deathcore band have landed a solid line-up...

Sound: Oceano is a deathcore Band from Chicago. I found them on myspace a little less then a year ago, and I have been keeping tabs on them ever since. They finally have put out their debut album "Depths" on Earache Records. After listening to the entire album through, they definitely wanted to make sure that they were heavy when writing this album. You can tell with the triggered drums and ridiculously down-tuned guitars. I am very, very pleased because every song was executed well...
