The beautiful gospel sounds of the Williams Brothers are abundant on this album. The Williams Brothers Celebrate "This Christmas" is a little short, but contains a few songs penned by the brothers themselves, along with several traditional Christian carols. Those familiar with the Williams Brothers will probably enjoy this quite a bit, and even casual gospel music fans may want to give this a listen.

For proof that in quartet change is not decay, look no further. The sermonette "The Goat" might have come off an early Clouds single, and time and again the accompaniment returns to the great, simple, classic piano/organ combination. But the four Williams Brothers are up for most anything, including Walter Hawkins on one track and rappers on another.

Although they started singing as the Little William Brothers in 1960, the true recording history of the group begins in 1973 with their groundbreaking recordings for the Nashville Nashboro label. This nine-song budget collection brings together some of the very best from that period including "Jesus Will Fix It," "I'll Fly Away," "You Better Check Yourself," and "Try God." The group's plain country-boy styling still works in a modern context, resonating in a time-worthy manner.
