2010-Lollapalooza-festival-in-Grant-Park-billboard-650Lollapalooza, the Chicago music festival that’s often imitated but never equaled, turns 25 this year, and the organizers are celebrating in a huge way. According to Consequence of Sound, they had so many bands interested in playing the annual event this year that they had to add a fourth day just to accommodate them – so, yep, for the first time in its history, Lollapalooza will offer four days full of music and partying. The festival is scheduled to take place July 28-31 at Hutchinson Field, Grant Park, Chicago.

All About Lollapaolooza Tickets

Lollapalooza tickets are coming out in two streams. The 4-day general admission passes went on sale this morning. The tickets, with a face price of $335, sold out in 46 minutes, with the Lollapalooza reps sending out a tweet to announce the sellout. One-day Lollapalooza tickets will go on sale Wednesday morning at 10 a.m., just four hours after the concert organizers are scheduled to announce the actual lineup for the four-day mega-fest. The one day tickets are priced at $120, while VIP tickets, which grant access to the Lolla Lounge, are priced at $650. Lollapalooza VIP tickets will also go on sale tomorrow morning.

You’ll find a great selection of Lollapalooza tickets have already hit the inventory here, including VIP Lollapalooza passes and one-day Lollapalooza passes, with prices in the very reasonable range for music fans who just want tickets for one day of the festival. The inventory changes a lot, and you can expect prices to rise once the full lineup is announced tomorrow morning, so this is a great time to grab your Lollapalooza tickets.

Who Will be Performing?

While the headliners and schedule haven’t yet been announced, there’s been quite a lot of speculation, and at least one insider source has told Billboard and other industry mags that they’ll include some Lollapalooza veterans and favorites. The expected artists include Radiohead, who have headlined the festival once before, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, whose association with Lollapalooza dates back to the festival’s second show way back in 1992. They’ll be making their fourth appearance as headliners. Also making a return appearance will be LCD Sound System, who headlined the festival in 2007. Lollapalooza is one of the stops on their 2016 reunion tour. Other artists expected to appear include J. Cole and Lana del Ray. In all, there will be more than 170 performances over the four-day affair.

Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell announced the expanded schedule in a December press release. “When the party won’t wait for the weekend,” he wrote, “the movers and shakers make it happen on Thursday. It’s going to be a great party!”

Will You be a Part of the Great Moments?

That could be an understatement. Lollapalooza is known for making great moments – the kind of concerts that make music history – and fan memories. Last year’s Lollapalooza, for example, included an incredible moment when Alabama Shakes lead singer Brittany Howard to sing along with Paul McCartney on “Get Back.” Fans won’t soon forget the sight and sound of the Howard and McCartney battling for mike time as they belted out “Get back to where you once belonged!”
